Abir Thakurta

Mr. Abir Thakurta is responsible for all things supply chain at Havertys – strategy, planning, execution, orchestration and innovation. As Vice President of Global Supply Chain for one of the largest home furnishings retailers in the US, he leads a worldwide team of supply chain leaders, operational enthusiasts, subject matter experts, passionate team members and committed service providers in forecasting, sourcing, flowing, replenishing and delivering products to customers through the extensive Havertys network - all while ensuring regulatory compliance. Abir is a supply chain enthusiast, known for his ‘agile supply chain’ techniques, 'win-win' strategies with partners and championing effective digital transformational strategies to help drive profitable company operations while managing business risk. In his previous life, he has consulted with retailers, manufacturers and apparel and footwear brands worldwide on global supply chain strategies and implemented performance improvement programs leveraging technology and innovation. Abir has a Masters in Transportation and Supply Chain from New Jersey Institute of Technology and Bachelors in Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology - India. He has completed an Executive Management Program at Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech.
